EVIDENCE - IDC White Paper - Maximizing Your Microsoft Software Investment

With the help of Software Assurance (SA), many Microsoft customers can reduce and better predict the costs of licensing the Microsoft products they use, as well as improve the capabilities of their workforce. The analysis presented reveals the below key benefits of SA:

Standardizing on a single version of the desktop PC and server operating system and the 2007 Microsoft Office system via the New Version Rights benefit can help reduce IT labor costs by 30% to 35%.

Training Vouchers and E-Learning benefits, when used, can help reduce IT staff software training by as much as 65% to 75%. Microsoft Home Use Rights can help reduce overall user training costs by 9%.

Companies employing the full range of SA features across desktop PC, server, and productivity applications can save up to $292 per user annually in IT operations costs and pay back the premium for SA in eight months.

1.

Log into the Packaged Services registration site at register.microsoftdps.com

2.

Click "Register" or "Edit" next to any Packaged Service type

3.

NEWPartner’s SAVB Online Tool (Software Assurance Voucher Benefits Tool)

The Partner’s SAVB Online Tool will launch for partner use on February 14th, 2010, enabling partners participating in the Packaged Services programs to submit their payment requests (invoices) for redeemed vouchers ONLINE!

In addition, by using this new tool, you will be able to view the current status of your payment requests, review voucher details, manage your Packaged Service programs across multiple locations, and more -- all from one convenient online location.

November Content Updates
Before November ends, our team will be posting BVPS 2.0 content and updated workshop engagement templates to the Microsoft Business Value Planning Service Partner Portal.  A notification mail will follow the content update.

Share YOUR Success Stories with Us
Throughout the month of November, our team will be following up with each of the partners that have successfully delivered BVPS engagements requesting their feedback, success stories, quotable statements, etc… for inclusion in Microsoft readiness and promotional materials. If your organization has any BVPS specific wins for the year, please send mail to Marc Policani.

Strategy Briefings Help Generate Demand
You can demonstrate the business value of the Microsoft Information Worker (IW) technologies by featuring each of the BVPS scenarios your organization supports before a small group of potential Customers (less than 25). Over the course of a 1 to 2-Hour breakfast or lunch briefing, leverage the BVPS Marketing Kit and Strategy Briefing Kit with your groups. Strategy Briefings can help you to more effectively:

Discuss the value of the Microsoft Office System by defining business value opportunities in terms relevant to your customers.

Show customers that they can leverage much of their current investment in IW technology to improve business process problems they face every day, often with technology they have already purchased.

Identify new opportunities across a customer organization through process specific, Business Decision Maker (BDM) tailored marketing content.
